Whether you’re just putting together your home gym for the first time, or you’re an experienced user looking to expand your setup, Kettlebells offer something for everyone, having the remarkable ability to level up anyone’s fitness game. When it comes to conditioning and functional training, Kettlebell weights offer a unique experience that no other free weight can match. Kettlebells have an impressive variety and versatility, and are highly useful in building strength, power, stability, explosiveness, endurance and much more.
One of the best uses of Kettlebells are being incorporated into cardio training, such as High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). Kettlebell workouts are great at providing short, intense bursts of energy that utilise many muscle groups at once. They’re highly effective in raising your heart rate, and turning a regular exercise into an intense, full body Kettlebell workout.
It also impossible to ignore their ability to improve strength and build muscle. Kettlebells can be used for targeting large muscle groups across the entire body, as well as more targeted work in a specific muscle. Due to the nature of Kettlebells, you’ll almost always be training your core alongside any workout you do, meaning you’re always getting the most out of every workout.
Kettlebells FAQ
There are tonnes of exercise possibility at your disposal with a Kettlebell, but here is just a sampling of the best Kettlebell exercises. First, you can try a classic Kettlebell Squat. This is a simple but effective Kettlebell exercise that works your lower body leg muscles and your core. It involves grabbing the Kettlebell with both hands on the handle, then bracing the core while you bend your knees down into a squat, keeping your back straight. Another great exercise for a full body workout is the Kettlebell swing. Kettlebell swing benefits include working the core muscles, the triceps and leg muscles. For this workout, grab the Kettlebell with both hands, bend your knees down into a slight squat then swinging the Kettlebell in between your legs, before straightening your legs and swinging the Kettlebell up in front of you, keeping your arms straight.
With the right program and workout schedule, you can absolutely get a full-body workout with nothing but a Kettlebell set, or even just the one Kettlebell. A Kettlebell workout can be modulated and adjusted to suit your needs, and can be incorporated into many different types of exercise. Use for incorporated cardio and aerobic workouts, or for focused strength training and resistance.
Kettlebells are a great addition to any home gym, as they are incredibly versatile, easy to store and move around, and can be used by beginners and advanced trainers alike. They immediately provide you with a depth and variation in your regular workout routine, allowing you to more effectively target major muscle groups, as well training improving power, stability and control. While they’re great for bombastic workouts, they can also be used for simpler, low impact exercises depending on your needs.
